This necklace was made from part of the cap of a giant acorn (some type of Oak I think) found on the ground in Brooklyn's Prospect Park. I thought the texture was fascinating and imagined rings and necklaces the minute I picked it up.
Cast in solid sterling silver, the acorn cap measures approx. 2.9 x 2.9 x 1.1 cm and is hung on a super soft strip of recycled black leather fastened with a small sterling silver button cast from a tiny dried berry (also found in Prospect Park). The leather choker measures approx 40cm (15.75") x approx. 4 cm mm (1.5 "). The silver button measures approx. 9 x 9 x 7 mm.
Can be worn on it's own or layered with your other favorite necklaces.
