I have been dabbling in pottery over the past 6 months and I have decided to make some of my favorite pieces available for sale here. I am listing small porcelain pieces in my jewelry shop, but I am also listing other stoneware items and larger porcelain items in a different shop called GyreAlchemy, dedicated only to pottery. If you are interested, you can take a look and follow here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/GyreAlchemy?ref=seller-platform-mcnav
I threw this small white porcelain bowl on the wheel, trimmed it on the wheel then added little feet to the bottom. I carved the pattern at the leather-hard stage and applied underglaze to the incisions. The bowl was bisque-fired and then glaze-fired twice more to add high gloss to the outside and inside and a weird floaty finely foamed red treatment on the inside.
This little container is perfect for salt or spices. It can also be used to hold jewelry or small precious keepsakes and can even be used as an incense burner (please note incense may stain the inside with resinous smoke residue, which can be washed away with a little scrubbing). All glazes used on this piece are all food-safe.
The dimensions are approximately 2" tall x 3" wide (5cm x 7.6cm) and the weight is 4.5 oz (127.5g).
Each piece I create is one of a kind and takes many hours of joyful labor to complete.
