This jar was thrown on the wheel. Once it had dried to leather-hard, I carved the spoon rest notch and the pattern into the outside and applied chartreuse underglaze to the incised decoration. The piece was bisque-fired then coated with stormy blue-gray celadon on the inside and high points outside, coated with a glossy high-fire clear glaze, and fired again.
The dimensions are approximately 2.72" tall x 3.5" wide (6.9 cm x 8.9cm) and the weight is 11.4 oz (.322kg). It holds approximately 7 fluid ounces (207 ml).
I am calling this a marmalade jar, but it can be used as a serving pot for anything.
PLEASE NOTE: The listing price is for the marmalade pot only. Each piece I create is one-of-a-kind and takes many hours of joyful labor to complete. This is an unusual piece, but am very happy with how it came out!
