Iridescent, 22k White Gold Lustered Dark Grey Porcelain Lightning Jar, wheel-thrown & carved

I threw this vessel on the potter's wheel using dark grey porcelain. I carved in the lightning bolts, painted black and purple underglaze clouds, then high fired with clear glaze on the outside and deep blue celadon on the inside. Last but not least I added iridescent mother of pearl luster overglaze to the clouds, and 22k white gold to paint the lightning bolts. The optional cork stopper is hand cut and charred then buffed on the top surface.
This dramatic vessel is a perfectly magical potion, or stash jar. It can also hold jewelry, small precious keepsakes, incense, homemade balms, or healing ointments. The glazes used on this piece are all food-safe. Please hand wash only and DO NOT put in the microwave. (The gold will react electrically!)
The dimensions (without the cork stopper) are approximately 2.5" tall x 4" wide (6.5cm x 10cm) and the weight is 8.6 oz (244g).
Each piece I create is one of a kind and takes many hours of joyful labor to complete.
