In English folklore, the Asrai is a type of aquatic fairy, similar to a mermaid. I was thinking of an Asrai when I made this necklace.
A blackened Sterling silver starfish is set with a genuine 6mm Ethiopian cabochon in its underside. Nestled on top of the starfish is a blackened Sterling silver abalone shell with a cluster of small barnacles. Each barnacle is set with a different gemstone: a lustrous white cultured pearl in one and black and white lab made opals in the other 2. The 2 charms are hung on a 1mm wide 45 cm (18") blackened Sterling silver chain.
One of a kind.
