The band of this eye ring is a solid 14k yellow gold cuttlefish bone cast that supports a central sterling silver evil eye, set with a beautiful 2.6 mm deep red natural ruby. A tiny "6" and a "9" are stamped into the gold band on either side of the eye.
I cast the band for this ring back in 2005 (when I still did cuttlefish bone casting) and I assembled and set the ring during the NYC Covid 19 lockdown in April 2020. It is a US size 6.75 and it's one of a kind. The gold band is approximately 3.7 mm wide with an approx. depth of 2mm. The entire ring weighs approx. 4.5 grams (.16 oz).
This ring is striking on its own, but stacks nicely with other rings as well.
The image of the eye has adorned jewelry for ages in cultures all over the world. Some consider it a symbol of protection from harm while others believe it to represent the ever-present spirit of God or cosmic extrasensory spiritual perception. The number "69" signifies stability & balance and some also believe it invokes courage & power.
Ruby is believed to promote love, health, knowledge and wealth. It is thought by some to improve energy and concentration, to stimulate creativity, and to encourage loyalty, honor and compassion. Ruby is also thought to be a protective stone, shielding against psychic attacks. It is said to stimulate the heart chakra and to bring spiritual wisdom too. Ruby is one of my favorite stones!
